Week 5 Meeting Notes

Pearson Publishing is looking for photographs for a textbook--this would bean excellent resume line for the successful student(s). Please have anyinterested members (or others) email Colleen jpgs, no larger than 600 on their largest side. If he is interested, He will contact students directly for permissions. Traditionally in educational publications, there is no pay.
"We need photos that generate good writing prompts in the rhetorical modesof Narration, Description, Comparison/Contrast, Illustration, Cause-Effect,Argument, Classification, etc.
For starters, I guess I am most interested in good photos. I will let myauthor decide which are applicable to the modes. "
In other words anything could do--but remember you'll need model releasesfor people. Please do NOT send any images for which you do not have model releases in hand today! Thanks! Get these to Colleen by the 14th.

Camera Workers Group
February 13, 2008 - 6:00 PMMCP welcomes the monthly meeting of the Camera Workers Group, a gathering ofphotographic artists and observers. Hosted by noted photographer Tom Arndt,the group discusses topics generated from within its ranks and reviews workof attendees in an informal, supportive environment. This popular programhas created an energetic, lively space for discussion of contemporaryphotography.
Attendance is open to all interested parties, and refreshments are served.No fees are charged, though donations are gladly accepted.

SPEStudents have a unique opportunity to get involved at the conference andmeet other students across the country by volunteering! Volunteers will beable to attend the conference for a greatly reduced conference fee of $25.Each volunteer is required to work eight hours (spread over the conference)and must attend one of the training sessions on Wednesday, March 12, 2008from 4-6 pm or in the evening from 9-11 pm. A late, final training sessionis Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 8-10 am. All volunteers need topre-register for the conference and be 2008 members of SPE. The POSTMARKDEADLINE for volunteer registration is FEBRUARY 14, 2008.
